High Energy Inductive Therapy - Dr. WijtingIn this webinar, Yorick Wijting, PT, DPT, shares his experience using the emFieldPro by Zimmer MedizinSystems. At the time of this recording, he says he has used it for a year, and it has now become something he uses daily in his practice. Practitioners looking for ways to boost revenue or complement the services they offer will benefit from this webinar. Dr. Wijting details the emFieldPro’s mechanism of action and his clinical experience with the device. He finishes the session with a Q&A, answering viewers’ questions and going further into depth. The webinar format is an excellent way to gain an understanding, as Dr. Wijting shares graphics that assist us in getting a full picture of how the energy is conducted and delivered to the body. He also demonstrates the device on his own arm while talking us through the benefits, what the machine is doing to his body, and how it feels. He notes the varying speeds and frequencies for adapting to each patient’s needs. During his demonstration, the viewer can see that the muscles strongly contract without any physical discomfort. Dr. Wijting notes, “one of the main benefits of the emFieldPro is its ability to deliver strong contractions even through clothing” (and no electrodes are needed). In fact, he specifies that the power of the force can be compared to the strength of an MRI (as strong as 3 Tesla!). Perhaps what is most helpful is that Dr. Wijting gives an overview of the research literature that exists, to explain what is possible with the machine.  (References are included.) He says that the versatility of the device is also evident in its ability to be used pre or post-surgery, for preventative or rehabilitative purposes, and because it is applicable to a broad range of patients, from elite athletes to senior patients with mobility issues. Dr. Wijting goes into great depth in this webinar, so for anyone interested in HEIT, this is going to be a very interesting and critical webinar to add to your watchlist. He says that thanks to this device, his practice is becoming known as a high-tech practice, which he really appreciates.

Webinar: How Shockwave Therapy Can Change Your Practice Speaker: Richard Schilling, DPM

Date recorded: September 28, 2022

Podiatry Webinar - Dr. Schilling - 9-28-2022In this webinar, Richard Schilling, DPM, shares his experience with radial shockwave therapy (RSWT) by Zimmer MedizinSystems and spends time at the end of the session answering questions posed by viewers. He says that shockwave therapy has been a game-changer for his practice, and he wants to explain to others how this can benefit their own practice. He explains the basics of shockwave therapy, describing how it is an acoustic wave that carries energy into musculoskeletal tissues to treat pain and promotes the regenerative and reparative processes. The kinetic energy is created by an electromagnetic force which is transmitted through the applicator. For anyone interested in the history of this type of therapy, Dr. Schilling reviews how it has evolved over the years.  (Including how he has seen the therapy advance over the course of his own career, which spans decades). Viewers will also appreciate how Dr. Schilling gives tips on how to speak with patients about this therapy, and he suggests what type of questions may be asked. He explains the internal process of how the device promotes tissue repair, the patient’s experience on the day of treatment, and their process of recovery post-treatment. He details how he goes through the treatment with a patient, from determining what tissue needs to be targeted and how communication is shared with the patient. With shockwave therapy, he treats plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, retrocalcaneal bursitis, peroneal tendonitis, neuromas, peripheral neuropathy, and wound care. Schilling is very transparent in terms of how the enPulsPro has helped him increase revenue, and how others can likewise use it to this end. He is so pleased with the excellent results of this technology that it has spurred him to work on his own study that could increase evidence of its applications (results pending). He is hopeful that his study has the potential to give practitioners a new way to treat neuropathy. Schilling details how shockwave therapy has changed his treatment approach with patients. Originally, he had been more hesitant to suggest this therapy, as it may not be covered by patient insurance. But he has found the results to be so beneficial for patients that now he often suggests it at their first visit. He says that it is an excellent option to improve treatment results, while also increasing revenue streams.

Webinar: Shockwave Treatment in Aesthetics and Erectile Dysfunction Speaker: David J. Goldberg, MD, JD

Date recorded: October 13, 2022

Goldberg Webinar Video - Shockwave in Aesthetics & ED Dermatologist, David J. Goldberg, MD, JD, shares how he uses the Z Wave technology by Zimmer MedizinSystems for erectile dysfunction (ED). This is extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), an  FDA-cleared device to reduce the appearance of cellulite, improve blood flow, and relieve minor muscle aches and pains. Given these benefits, Dr. Goldberg goes more specifically into what types of issues he can address for his patients and why he is so passionate about Z Wave technology. The increased blood supply and blood flow help in many treatments for faster repair and recovery. Radial soundwave technology, or Softshot technology, is unique to Zimmer MedizinSystems’ Z Wave device, and particularly important for a comfortable erectile dysfunction treatment, especially relative to the amount of force that is being delivered. Unlike with other technologies, ED patients seldom, if ever, require a topical anesthetic, as noted by Dr. Goldberg. He states that improvements last about a year and patients tend to be very satisfied. Another benefit of this device, from Dr. Goldberg’s perspective, is that as a Class 1 device, practice directors can delegate treatments to office staff. In addition to ED, Dr. Goldberg uses Z Wave as an adjunct to other aesthetic devices for combination therapy. He says that this aids with producing faster and better results for CoolSculpting®, Kybella® and any procedures that involve non-invasive body contouring. Dr. Goldberg strongly recommends the Zimmer MedizinSystems device: “I believe that Z Wave is the real deal with a huge amount of science behind it.” At the end of the webinar, he answers viewer questions, mostly covering operating costs, his specific treatment process, and results.
