Brittany Roney, Non-Surgical Body Contouring Specialist at Salzman Cosmetic Surgery and Spa, discussed the usage of Z Wave for enhanced results in conjunction with fat reduction procedures. In the video below, Ms. Roney explained how Z Wave can improve treatment outcomes when used either after or before some popular fat reduction procedures.
Roney began with a review of some of her previous comments about the practice’s use of Z Wave to reduce the appearance of cellulite and to reduce or resolve capsular contractures after breast augmentation. She continued with a discussion of additional utility that Dr. Salzman’s office gets from the device. Roney noted CoolSculpting and Vanquish ME as examples of treatments with which they integrate the Z Wave Radial Pulse Technology. “Both of those are non-invasive, permanent fat reduction treatments. One uses cooling to obstruct the fat cells. One uses heat to obstruct the fat cells. Either way, we always use the Z Wave in conjunction with those treatments.” Roney estimated an enhanced result by 40 to 60 percent and relieved or eliminated discomfort for the patient when Z Wave is added to these treatment protocols. As she spoke, before and after patient photos were displayed. The photos show visible results from a combination Vanquish ME / Exilis Ultra / Z Wave series of 4 treatments over the course of one month.
Roney explained how Z Wave achieves better results: “We’re trying to get that apoptosis, that natural fat cell death cycle. Some of those cells after those treatments, they kind of hang on a little bit and the Z Wave goes in kind of kicks the rest of them out. So that’s why we’ve seen such better results if we use this after one of those treatments.” Salzman Cosmetic Surgery and Spa not only uses Z Wave after some of their body contouring treatments. Roney points out that it can be used before some radiofrequency or other heat-based treatments. “It’s going to increase blood circulation to the area so that the heating is actually going to be more uniformed and they’re going to get less hot spots.”
Roney concluded by encouraging anyone who is considering a non-invasive, permanent fat reduction consultation to inquire about whether or not the office pairs Z Wave with those treatments.
Neither Salzman Cosmetic Surgery & Spa nor Brittany Roney were compensated for this video or for their comments about Z Wave.

The Zimmer Z Wave transmits powerful sound waves into the tissue. The energy then spreads out radially to enhance the treatment effect (Radial Pulse Therapy). The body responds to these sound waves with increased metabolic activity in the form of lymphatic drainage and increased blood circulation. The end result is an improvement in the appearance of cellulite and improved results when used with other body contouring procedures.
