Mariana Viera-Navarro, MPH, PA-C, CCT, described the double-duty utility that The Osteopathic Center gets from its Zimmer MedizinSystems Cryotherapy device. The clinic uses the all-natural cold air machine for both physical therapy and for aesthetic treatments like facial cryotherapy.

In a video testimonial and aesthetic treatment demo, Viera-Navarro detailed the concept of cryotherapy, how it is applied during their local treatments, and what some of its benefits are.

“Cryotherapy, or cold therapy, as most people know it,” Viera-Navarro began, “is the use of freezing or near-freezing temperatures to cool off the skin.” Comparing the clinic’s local treatments to that of whole body cryotherapy, she explained, “We use, at The Osteopathic Center, a more targeted approach for aches and pains and inflammation of the joints…the blood flow that gets to that [targeted] area reduces inflammation. So basically, you cool off the skin and when you remove the cold temperature, the circulation opens.”

She listed an array of candidates who might benefit from local cryotherapy: “This is a good therapy for anybody that is injured and wants a speedy recovery; athletes that must maintain that top performance; or just for anti-aging purposes.” Viera-Navarro then segued into the benefits of facial cryotherapy as a treatment video illustrated the process.  She continued, “We can also do it for aesthetic purposes… We apply cold air to your face to close the pores and make you look more refreshed.”

About The Osteopathic Center

The Osteopathic Center, headed by Kristopher Goddard, D.O., focuses on regenerative and anti-aging medicine. The clinic’s goals are to help heal their patients’ injuries, restore their energy, enhance their performance, and rejuvenate their appearance.

The practice offers regenerative injections, including stem cells, PRP (platelet rich plasma) and prolotherapy. The clinic touts these injections as beneficial treatments for concerns like severe athletic injuries, back pain, knee injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports hernias and facial rejuvenation. Also utilizing these regenerative injection technologies for male and female sexual health, the clinic offers the “o-shot” and the “p-shot”.

Another specialty of The Osteopathic Center is integrative medicine. This includes osteopathic manipulation, IV therapy and nutritional health. These therapies can help restore balance to the body, alleviating chronic fatigue syndrome and treating mercury poisoning, migraine headache, fungal infections, and more.

Cosmetic therapy is another area of concentration at the practice. The staff has many services available to achieve facial rejuvenation and hair regrowth. Facial cryotherapy using the all-natural Zimmer Cryo device is offered to achieve a refreshed appearance. As an alternative to facial fillers, The Osteopathic Center offers facial PRP injections (“the vampire facial”), micro-needling techniques, and stem cell injections.
