Midwest Dermatology, founded by Dr. John R. Luckasen, has added a Zimmer Cryo device to the practice for treatments that can benefit from cold therapy. The skin cooling device provides added comfort and pain management during many of the procedures offered by the practice. Midwest Dermatology provides services for hard-to-treat conditions effecting the hair, skin, and nails. They also treat and diagnose common dermatological concerns and skin cancer, as well as performing cosmetic procedures. They pride themselves in providing the highest standards of care in dermatology. Their focus is on achieving long-term positive outcomes for patients.

The Dermatologists of Midwest Dermatology are board-certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and are members of many other professional societies.

Dr. J Luckasen was one of the first in the region to preform Mohs surgery. Mohs surgery is a precise surgical technique used to treat skin cancer. Dr. Luckasen is also certified by the American Board of Dermatopathology. Additionally, he completed special training at the University of California and the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Jason S. Papenfuss, another of the practice’s Dermatologists, graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed special training at the Utah Health and Science Center and the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Society for Mohs surgery.

Dr. Justin G. Madson completed his undergraduate at Cornell University, and obtained two doctorates. He is a member of the Acne and Rosacea Society and the National Psoriasis Foundation, among others.

Midwest Dermatology knows how to properly diagnosis, treat and prevent skin cancer, the most common form of cancer. They know what to look for, and – more importantly – how to treat it. There are a variety of treatments available dependent upon the stage of cancer. Their MoleWatch Map skin cancer prevention program, tracks the skin’s state. This program also provides users with a free examination for suspicious moles.

Midwest Dermatology treats acne, skin aging, eczema, moles, nail diseases, psoriasis, rashes, rosacea, scalp/hair diseases, skin tags and warts. With years of experience, the medical team of Midwest Dermatology can restore skin to a youthful and healthy appearance.

The doctors at Midwest Dermatology offer a variety of appearance enhancing cosmetic surgeries. They offer laser hair, tattoo and birthmark removal, skin smoothing, and body contouring. Their Coolscuplting® procedure freezes fat cells. The cells then crystalize and are naturally shed from the body, providing a non-invasive method for fat reduction. The practice also provides treatments with dermal fillers and chemical peels for wrinkle reduction.

The Zimmer Cryo Chiller assists with these treatments by minimizing discomfort to the patient. Cryo Chillers provide local relief via cold air as low as -30°C. This also helps to prevent skin damage from laser procedures.

Midwest Dermatology has six locations in Eastern Nebraska. You may visit Midwest Dermatology Clinic online at www.midwestderm.com.
