Dr. Scott Hernberg spoke about the utility he has gotten over the past nine years from Z Wave Radial Pulse Technology by Zimmer MedizinSystems. He designated it as a personal favorite among medical devices in his practice, Tomorrow’s Wellness Center. After treating with the Z Wave Pro for seven years, the center was among the first in the USA to upgrade to Z Wave Q, the newest model in the Z Wave line.
“It is just a wonderful tool. I use it in all our non-invasive body contouring procedures,” said Dr. Hernberg. A to Z News Interview with Dr. Scott Hernberg of Tomorrow’s Wellness Center
A to Z News: What do you believe to be one of the best benefits of pairing Z Wave treatments with CoolSculpting?
SH: The primary benefit is an enhanced outcome of the procedure. Faster fat reduction and apparent increase in fat reduction area.
A to Z News: When pairing Z Wave Q with CoolSculpting, can you estimate the typical improvement in percentage fat loss and/or healing time? How are results enhanced, as compared to procedures you’ve performed without Z Wave?
SH: We always use Z Wave, so I have nothing to compare. I believe it is an essential part of the underlying treatment. Not using Z Wave seems to be underserving the patient.
A to Z News: In the video, you mentioned that after using the previous generation of Z Wave for many years, you upgraded to the newest model, the Z Wave Q. Was it easy for you and your staff to make the transition between the two models? What was the greatest benefit of the upgrade?
SH: The staff found the upgrade simple to use and very intuitive. They relate a significant reduction in noise, faster turnaround on multi-application treatments (Dual & TriSculpting™) and nicer ergonomics of the device. Also, less discomfort is reported by patients with the newer Z Wave.
A to Z News: You noted numerous non-invasive body sculpting procedures with which you’ve integrated the earlier Z Wave and newer Z Wave Q devices. It sounds like you’ve gotten quite a lot of utility from the device over the 8 to 9 year period! Can you estimate how many treatments you’ve performed with your previous model and your Z Wave Q over that time period?
SH: Over the course of seven years, we performed approximately 5,000 individual Z Wave treatments. Over the following two-year period, we performed approximately 1,500 individual Z Wave Q treatments.
A to Z News: Can you give us a little more detail about your Z Wave Q protocol with the following procedures?
- CoolSculpting™
- EMSCULPT® neo (HIFEM – High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Field + Radiofrequency)
- To dissolve nodules from fat necrosis
- Treating post-surgical scars
- To accelerate laser tattoo removal
SH: We use the same protocol for all services: 16 Hz, 120 mJ, 3,000 pulses per site.
A to Z News: Has your practice also offered stand-alone, non-invasive Z Wave treatments for cellulite and lax skin? If so, how many treatments does it usually take before results start to become visible?
SH: Yes, we use it for cellulite reduction along with surface Radiofrequency energy. Typically, at least 4-6 weekly sessions with the settings I mentioned.
A to Z News: How long does a Z Wave treatment take?
SH: It takes less than 3 ½ minutes.
A to Z News: Any final comments about the benefits of integrating Z Wave treatments with body contouring procedures?
SH: It clearly appears to enhance results and is a marketplace differentiator.
