A new case study by Dr. Anna Buinewicz details a patient treated for post-surgical capsular contractures of the breast. Dr. Buinewicz obtained outstanding results using the non-invasive Zimmer MedizinSystems Z Wave device. The case study includes pictures of before and after the patient’s Z Wave treatment series. Prior to these treatments, the tissue in the patient’s right breast appeared tight and superior in position to that of the left breast.

The case study describes a female patient who experienced an acute breast implant rupture, and consequently underwent a bilateral implant exchange with capsulectomy.  This procedure resulted in hematoma and a subsequent Bakers grade 4 capsular contracture.  With reference to this case, the Buinewicz Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa website notes, “Typically this would be a surgical correction, but we can now improve capsular contracture with this [Z Wave] technique.

Dr. Buinewicz wrote of the treatment settings and frequency used to improve the contracture. She also noted the adjustments that she made to the protocol in order to further improve the results. Dr. Buinewicz concluded:

The change in depth and energy with the acoustic procedure significantly improved the contracture. In addition, the increased repetition of treatments alternating daily created a cumulative effect on the breast tissue. The breast is now placed in a normal anatomic position without palpable scar tissue noted on exam.

Z News has previously featured Dr. Buinewicz’s treatments using Z Wave. She shared that Buinewicz Cosmetic Surgery & Med Spa also employs this Radial Pulse Technology device to treat cellulite, reduce patient swelling after plastic surgeries, accelerate tattoo clearance, assist in the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) through temporary increase in local blood flow, and to enhance outcomes for Cryolipolysis. You may learn more about her experience with those non-invasive Z Wave treatments by clicking on the “Related Z News Articles” links at the bottom of this page.

About Zimmer MedizinSystems Z Wave

The Zimmer Z Wave transmits powerful sound waves into the tissue. The energy then spreads out radially to enhance the treatment effect (Radial Pulse Therapy). The body responds to these sound waves with increased metabolic activity in the form of lymphatic drainage and increased blood circulation. The result is an improvement in the appearance of cellulite and improved results when used with other body contouring procedures. For more information about the Z Wave, visit a web overview of the product. You may also contact Zimmer MedizinSystems any time by phone or email.
